There’s no need to start hoarding Hershey’s yet but the world could be running out of chocolate.
Cue screams. Cue tackles at the office candy bowl. Let the streets run brown from “The Chocolate Wars.”
After all, there could be a “a potential cocoa shortage by 2020,” said international candy-making giant Barry Callebaut in its 2014 annual report. That’s if current farming methods don’t get an upgrade, industry giants say.
This echoes warnings by confectioner Mars, which has previously predicted a global shortage of 1 million tonnes of cocoa by the year 2020.
Several trends are to blame for the sweet shortfall, said Matthew Bradbard, a commodities analyst at Chicago-based RCM Asset Management.
For starters, “China has a growing appetite for chocolate,” said Bradbard. Meanwhile, a fungal infection called “frosty pod” is estimated to have wiped out 30-40 percent of the world’s cocoa production.
On top of that, the big ups and downs in the cocoa market, like the recent Ebola scare that sent prices spiking 15 percent, continue to scare off smaller farmers from the market.
To ensure steadier supplies, big chocolate producers like Mars have pledged to buy 100 percent “sustainably grown” cocoa by 2020.
That’s a ways away. What about this season? Are our stockings and Hanukkah gilt in peril?
“I don’t think so,” said Bardbard with a laugh.
And likely for seasons to come. You just might have to pay a prettier penny at times to get them.
I was having trouble with my computer. So I called Rick the computer guy, to come over. Rick clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem. He gave me a bill for a minimum service call. As he was walking away, I called after him, “So, what was wrong?”
He replied, “It was an ID ten T error.”
I didn’t want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired: “An ID ten T error? What’s that … in case I need to fix it again?”
The computer guy grinned…. “Haven’t you ever heard of an ID ten T error before?”
“No,” I replied.
“Write it down,” he said, “and I think you’ll figure it out.”
THIS IS WHY WHY IT IS ALWAYS NORTHERNERS VS. SOUTHERNERS 6 MONTHS OUT OF EVERY YEAR…
with what is clearly the start of winter in the Northern part of the United states, we decided we would bring you the top reasons why northerners hate southerns and specifically those who spend their winters in Florida. This should bring some laughs, smiles and a bit of bitterness if you are one of those Northerners freezing with snow and ice piled all around you for the next 6 months.
BUT Northerner’s do not have to fear this happening to them unless they are addicted to those fake tanning beds… but southerners I believe the “leather tan” is far more common.
Southerners love to jab at and show the Northerners what they have with laughter and comedy through social media.
Northerner’s share their displeasure of winter about as openly as the Southerners tease about it… For example:
The Northerner Kids who WISH they had “SNOW DAY’S”…
or the fun that Northerner’s have with winter weather:
BUT…. lets not forget the Northerners do know how to FIGHT back and get the Southerners pretty good when they do happen to get some snow and ice.
We all know what happens in the South the moment Snow hits the forecast… It’s like BLACK FRIDAY in the Grocery Stores!!!
Let’s not forget the Monumental Atlanta Georgia Ice Storm of 2014
We know we kept our eyes glued to the TV and a lot of eye rolling happened…
And there is TRUTH to this statement:
We certainly cannot forget the other Southerner’s like North Carolina… This person and their attempt to use their lawn mower as a snow blower – TOO FUNNY!!
This should bring some laughs and lots of smiles… please SHARE!!!

It’s never easy for a Dad or a woman’s father figure to give away his “little girl” to the man she loves, but it’s such an extraordinary gesture that means the world to both of you. One Dad wasn’t sure how to tell his daughter how much she meant to him on her special day, so he decided to do something extra special to let her know he will always love her.
Nicole Cortez posted the following video on YouTube of her father signing the song “I Loved Her First” by the band Heartland. Although Cortez is not deaf, she is a sign language interpreter and was surprised and delighted that her Dad learned to sign for this amazing tribute.
Cortez said on YouTube “This meant the world to me. He said it took him the entire year I was engaged to learn how to sign this song.” He did a great job and you could see how it even moved him to tears to perform it for his daughter.
Watch until the end so you don’t miss the very BEST part… Dad signing “I’m watching you” to his new son-in-law!

An estimated 13 million dogs suffer from separation anxiety, so for many pet parents, it’s difficult to leave your dog home alone all day. This was one stress that 15-year-old girl Brooke Martin from Spokane, Washington faced every day she left for school, so she decided to create an amazing invention to relieve this guilt from overanxious owners like herself.
With the help of her dad, Martin created the iCPooch unit, which allows video calls between pooches and their owners. The product, priced at $150, uses apps and tablets that allows a human user to dial into the device remotely and have a ‘chat’ with their pet at home. The product even releases treats!
For busy owners who spend more than eight hours away from their pets, this product provides a unique way to interact with your dog and spend time with it. This is one product you can own that will make you a better dog owner.
Please SHARE this awesome invention with all your fellow pet owners.
One Text while driving, one split second and this decision WILL change your life and everyone else’s life FOREVER…
Never in my life have I felt chills down my spine just by watching an ad. This is so powerful, it’s crazy. Even more so when you realize that this is something that occurs on a daily basis. People should be smarter than this.
What would you say in a situation like this? How would you feel? Apologies mean nothing at this point, just an overwhelming burden that you’re about to take someone’s life. You’ll never text and drive after this, I promise. It will change you.
If you know anyone who does, share this, this could be them.
This was so easy to make and the cost was under $5.00. My daughter and I made this together… We priced the average cat scratching post in the local pet stores and couldn’t believe how expensive they were, starting price was around $30 and went up to like $500. So I said we can make our own and wow, it was so easy to do and the end result was amazing
Smooth Log – remove all bark – we used a wire brush to smooth the surface of the log
Glue gun to firmly secure the twine on to the log – only gluing the start – where the knots are and the final twine to be sure it doesn’t unravel.
We sprayed the twine with catnip spray to entice our Kitty Chloe’s interest in the log, but I doubt this is really necessary as their nature is to scratch these types of surfaces.
We chose to personalize the log with paint, but you can decorate or leave plain. Your choice.
This project took approximately 2 hours to complete and the smiles on my daughters face was just priceless!! Turned out to be a great fun thing for us to do on a boring Sunday afternoon.
